A downloadable game

Guide our hero, Ned, through a boozy night out in Glasgow. Keep him in "the zone" to keep him out longer - if he gets too drunk or too sober, he'll have to go home. Spend your cash wisely, buy booze and food to balance Ned's drunkenness and help him last the distance. Keep in mind different establishments will have different opening hours, and watch out for the unsavoury characters roaming the streets, ready to put an end to Ned's night.

This is the Scottish Amiga Users Group entry into the 2022 Amiga Blitz Basic Game Jam, and should probably be considered a work in progress. Further updates will be released here as and when they happen.

I've had a shot. Well done! Proof: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1646186093

So you did, a proper good go too :) Thank you! And I'm glad you were able to sort it out - with Amiga things, so many users have been Amiga users for probably decades, it's very easy to take for granted that someone knows their way around the machine and emulators... I should point out that it's still unfinished and there's a lot that didn't make it in before the deadline, but will be added in time.

Funny game

Nice video, thanks!

Am new to Amiga emulation. Using the FS-UAE emulator. Do I need to change any settings?

Well, Amiga emulation is a complex thing as Amigas themselves cover a range of hardware and configurations. Ideally, you would set the emulator up as an A1200 with a fast CPU, 2MB of chip RAM, 4MB of fast RAM, and you'd need to have Amiga OS already installed and working to play the game since it's not in floppy disk image format. That can be a bit overwhelming if you're not already familiar with the Amiga ecosystem, so I'd maybe suggest finding a preconfigured hard drive image.

An alternative option is AmigaLive, which is a preconfigured bundle including FS-UAE that's set up for playing online but can also play single-player games. WeegieNights has just been added to the AmigaLive bundle I believe (in the Blitz Basic Game Jam 2022 bundle), so it might be the simplest way to get started.

Thanks!
